Good MorningThe S&P 500 ended another week with another gain. The broad market index rose 0.85% by the end of the day to close at the high of the session and at a new all-time high. The Dow Jones Industrial Average, the transportation average, and the tech-heavy NASDAQ Composite all made similar moves and could continue higher in the coming weeks. While the risks continue to mount the outlook for earnings continues to grow
The November read on jobs creation was much weaker than expected. The 245,000 reported is a solid gain for the economy but down substantially from the previous month and only half the consensus estimate. The silver lining is that overall unemployment continues to fall and wages are on the rise. The dark cloud hovering over the economy and the stock market, however, continues to be COVID-19. With cases on the rise and shutdown widening another deep economic recession could be on the horizon.
