Good MorningEquity markets tried to rebound on Tuesday but the move was weak and without conviction. All eyes are on the FOMC and its policy decision scheduled to be announced this afternoon. The committee is not expected to alter its policy but is expected to indicate when and by how much the taper would begin. The S&P 500 gained about 0.5% at the high of the day but closed well off the high.
Regardless of the FOMC decision inflation is a problem for the market. A few S&P 500 companies have already indicated the negative impact of rising prices and have guided accordingly. Lennar stands out as one deeply impacted after reporting revenue well below the analyst’s consensus. Lennar execs say the miss in revenue is due to “unprecedented supply chain challenges” that are expected to linger into the “foreseeable future”.
